ADVATAGE OF LGSF

LGSF is a suitable Construction technique for developing countries for the following reasons:


  •   Reduced Construction Time: Buildings are typically delivered in just a few weeks after approval of drawings. Foundation and anchor bolts are cast parallel with finished, ready for the site bolting. LGSF will reduces total construction time of the project by at least 50%. This also allows faster occupancy and earlier realization of revenue.

  •   Lower Cost: Due to the systems approach, there is a significant saving in design, manufacturing and on site erection cost. The secondary members and cladding nest together reducing transportation cost. The Steel buildings that are properly insulated save natural resources, energy and money.

  •   Flexibility of Expansion: Buildings can be easily expanded in length by adding additional bays. Also expansion in width and height is possible by pre designing for future expansion.

  •   Large Clear Spans: Buildings can be supplied to around 30 M clear spans.

  •   Low Maintenance:Buildings are supplied with high quality paint systems for cladding and steel to suit ambient conditions at the site, which results in long durability and low maintenance coats.

  •   Energy Efficient Roofing and Wall System: Buildings can be supplied with polyurethane insulated panels or fiberglass blankets insulation to achieve required ―U values.

  •   Architectural Versatility: Building can be supplied with various types of fascias, canopies, tapered eaves and are designed to receive pre cast concrete wall panels, curtain walls, block walls and other wall systems. All the components are available in different colours also.

  •   Single Source Responsibility: As the complete building package is supplied by a single vendor, compatibility of all the building components and accessories is assured. This is one of the major benefits of the pre engineered building systems.

  •   Sustainability: Steel is 100% recyclable and is the most recycled material in the world. Thus, each ton of recycled steel saves 1200 KG of iron ore and approximately 400 KG of coal.

Quality of construction varies as materials sourced from different vendors. All materials are of uniform quality.
Huge transportation costs as all materials are heavy Huge savings in transportation costs as LGSF construction is 1/10th weight of that of brick wall.

What is the life span of a Smart Green Light Building?

Theoretically, it is designed for upto 50 years but practically it is much more, However this systems life span can be increased upto 100 years.

What is the maximum number of floors we can design?

Using the cold formed profile of 150 mm width, we can design up to G+3 storeys.

What is the maximum span that a Smart Green Light Building can take?

If spanned with a truss, it can take up to 15 meters while spanning with joists allows 5 meters. However loading criteria governs the permissible span.

How safe is Smart Green Light Building against earthquake and wind?

This system is designed as per Indian and International standards. This takes care of all these lateral forces at the time of design and hence it is completely safe.

How safe is Smart Green Light Building against corrosion and fire?

This system use high tensile stell of 550MPa and Galvanisation of 275GSM. This makes this system corrosion resistant even in coastal areas. Since Smart Green Light Building use fire retardant material like steel and fibre cement boards etc., the complete system becomes fire retardant.

What is the advantage over brick wall construction?

Smart Green Light Building is a fast and convenient system since it is pre-engineered with major components being factory made and allows dry construction. It take only 1/3 rd of the time in construction as compared to masonry. Smart Green Light Building have less wall thickness which saves and thus allows more space. It is approximately 1/3rd in weight of brickwork and safe for installation on rooftops.
